Danguolė Bublienė was born in 1972. She obtained a law degree in 1995 and received her doctoral degree in 2007 from Vilnius University. D. Bublienė was appointed a judge of the Supreme Court of Lithuania in 2017. Since November 2022, she was the Chairperson of the Court’s Civil Division and became the President of the Supreme Court on March 27, 2023. On October 28, 2024, she was elected President of the Judicial Council, and on November 14, 2025, she was elected Member of the Board of the Network of the Presidents of the Supreme Judicial Courts of the European Union.

Before becoming a judge, D. Bublienė gained extensive legal experience in various roles (including leading) in public sector institutions. In 1994–2005 D. Bublienė worked in the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Lithuania; in 2005–2007 she served in the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Lithuania as the Secretary of the Ministry. She also has ten years of experience working as an advocate (2007–2017).

D. Bublienė has contributed to harmonizing national laws with the European Union legislation, its implementation and participated in various working groups at the national and EU levels. She successfully combines practicing law with scientific research and academic activities: is a recognized expert in Consumer Protection, the author and co-author of scientific publications, studies and reports, as well as a member of various research projects. D. Bublienė started her academic career at Mykolas Romeris University in 2002, and since 2003 has been a part of Vilnius University Faculty of Law, where she is currently an associate professor. Speaks Lithuanian, English and Russian languages.
