On the 16th of April, a delegation of representatives of Ukrainian legal institutions visited the Supreme Court of Lithuania and met with the President of the Court Danguolė Bublienė, Chairperson of the Criminal Division Gabrielė Juodkaitė-Granskienė, the President of the Civil Division Artūras Driukas and judges Andžei Maciejewski, Daiva Pranytė-Zalieckienė.

The aim of the visit - to present to the Ukrainian judges the best practices of Lithuanian courts in the areas of communication, reforms’ implementation, and other areas of ensuring the functioning of the judiciary, and to share experience in dealing with the challenges of the public trust in the courts.

During the meeting, the Ukrainian judges were introduced to the Supreme Court of Lithuania - performance indicators, the issues of selection and evaluation of judges, and the impact of accession to the European Union on the development of national legislation.

A delegation of representatives of Ukrainian legal institutions were visiting Lithuania within the framework of the project "Strengthening the Communication Competences of the Judiciary of Ukraine through the Establishment of an Effective Internal Communication System and Sustainable Communication Tools" funded by the Development Cooperation and Humanitarian Aid Fund.
