Representative of the Court gave training to Ukrainian judges
On the 4th of July Luxembourg Centre for European Law organised a workshop "The Path to the European Union: Current Challenges for the Ukrainian Judicial System", in which chief adviser of the Supreme Court of Lithuania Dr. Jurgis Bartkus gave training to Ukrainian judges.
The event was attended by by a member of the High Council of Justice of Ukraine Alla Kotelevets, President of the Kharkiv Court of Appeal Olena Grosheva, President of the Kharkiv District Administrative Court Mykhailo Spiridonov, President of the Second Administrative Court of Appeal Armen Begunts, President of the Lviv District Administrative Court Andriy Lankevych, Judge of the Prymorskyi District Court Kateryna Lagoda, and others. The Ukrainian representatives shared their experience and challenges in unifying their national legislation to sustainable European standards.
Chief advisor Dr. J. Bartkus shared his insights and experience on the challenges faced by Lithuanian courts in applying the European Union law of civil procedure and reviewed the peculiarities of evidentiary activities in civil cases. Both topics were of particular interest for the Ukrainian representatives in the context of their negotiations on accession to the European Union.
