President of the Supreme Court participated in a joint meeting of the Network of the Presidents of the Supreme Judicial Courts of the EU and the Court of Justice of the EU
On March 28, the President of the Supreme Court of Lithuania, Danguolė Bublienė, took part in a joint meeting of the Network of Presidents of the Supreme Judicial Courts of the European Union and the Court of Justice of the European Union in Luxembourg.
The first session addressed the topic „The independence of the judiciary within the European Union: a shared responsibility“. Introductory report on behalf of the Network was delivered by the Chief Justice of Ireland, Donal O’Donnell.
The afternoon session focused on the topic “GDPR supervision of judicial processing of personal data”. This session was presented by Dineke de Groot, President of the Supreme Court of the Netherlands; Koen Lenaerts, President of the Court of Justice of the European Union; Deputy Chancellor Marc-André Gaudissart; and Tamara Perišin, Judge of the General Court of the European Union.
