The delegation of the Supreme Court of Lithuania was participating in the events of the 30th anniversary of the restoration of the Supreme Court of Estonia
On 24-25th May, 2023, President of the Supreme Court of Lithuania Danguolė Bublienė and the President of the Judicial Council, Judge of the Supreme Court of Lithuania Sigita Rudėnaitė were participating in the official events in Tartu dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the restoration of the Supreme Court of Estonia.
"This is a special occasion that once again confirms the good and long-term ties that unite us, mainly determined by the parallels in the history of our states, the eternal pursuit of truth and justice by our peoples," noted the President of the Supreme Court of Lithuania, Danguolė Bublienė.
This is also the period during which decisive steps were taken to create a legal, democratic civil society, full integration with the West, a modern legal system was created, which denies a pure positivist approach and implements a creative interpretation and application of law based on the highest universally recognized legal values.
Presentations were made by the President of the Court of Justice of the European Union Koen Lenaerts, the first President of the Supreme Court of Estonia, former judge of the European Court of Human Rights Rait Maruste, President of the Supreme Court of Estonia Villu Kõve, Rector of the University of Tartu Toomas Asser, Professor Marju Luts- Sootak.
